Great place, good food and great staff.
Nicely designed. Very friendly waiters. Food also great.
Favorite place! Price-performance absolutely top, you can order snack portions or normal sized portions, the food is excellent and with different snack orders you can really eat your way through the menu! I always enjoy going here with friends, friendly staff and a great atmosphere!
I love that you can also order the great schnitzel in snack portions. The cocktails and the many different spritzes are fantastic and make you want more. My new hangout!
Restaurant in the Glockenbach, a few steps to Sendlinger Tor. Round building in a corner building, all around with a glass front. Interior design with wooden tables and benches, dimmed light. Difficult division over 2 floors. Local is specialized in schnitzel. There are also a few vegetarian dishes, burgers and Kaiserschmarrn. There were three of us and had the turmeric schnitzel and two normal veal schnitzel (about € 15). In addition, fried potatoes, grilled vegetables and sweet potato fries (€ 4.50 each). Both tasted delicious. For dessert there was Kaiserschmarrn, which tasted like a baking mix. We also drank beer (Augustiner) and white wine spritzer. Shortly before 10 p.m. the last round will be rung in - because of Corona. Price for the evening per person around 40 €. Overall ok, but not a must.
Nice balance of rustic and contemporary. Great schnitzel choices. Comfortable.
Good service despite corona and very tasty food. Thank you
Very tasty food ... very courteous service. If we come back to Munich, we will definitely come back.
This is an excellent, young, vibrant restaurant. Atmosphere is woody, raw, cosy staff is fun and friendly, food and cocktails are worth coming back for. This is my 4th visit, Nd
Great service, here your wishes are read from your eyes. Felt very comfortable.
The service was great. Very friendly and accommodating, but not too much. The food was just delicious. The option to choose between a snack and a large portion is great. Price performance flawless. Can just be recommended. Would go back again and again.
I give them one star cause I cannot give them 0 Extremely rude waiter , We live right on top of the restaurant and we are coming for lunch and dinner every weekend since we moved in. The waiters on the lunch time are really nice and friendly but the tall blond guy is not nice at all. All started 2 weeks ago when I went to pick up an order . I ordered 2 main courses and 2 desserts. He told me the food will take 45 min as they are pretty busy and I didn’t mind so I waited and come back when the 45 min passed ,then I waited there 30 min ,which wasn’t a problem cause I ordered a drink and I understood that they might take longer as they were busy. Then he gave me my food but without the desserts , I realized it when I was at home so I came back and he told me then if I wanted them I have to wait another 30 min. As I was craving for this chocolate cake I waited and when the time passed he told me unfortunately he cannot give me the cake for take away as it’s coming on a glass I explained him that we live upstairs and I could bring him after and he said no . I asked him if I could a glass from home and he said no , I asked him if maybe he can give it to me in a take away coffee cup and he said : we don’t do that here. Which is weird cause they were giving me the soup in this cup for all the time I was ordering from them. I went home very upset after almost 2 h 15 min of total waiting there. And I decided to come the next day for lunch and explain what happened to the waiters that I know which are lovely and they apologized for him. I came back today for dinner and first we waited 15 min Or more to order . I had to come in to remind him that I was sitting outside. Then I ordered a schnitzel and it came pretty fast but the bread crumbs was so thick that it was separated from the filet and it was really unpleasant. I politely advised him why this can happend and I told him for this time it’s ok cause I don’t want to wait for another one but just for them to know . I didn’t asked for money back or anything like that , his answer was the schnitzel are made like that and we always cook this way we are not gonna change it and I am not gonna tell the cooker if u want do it yourself. After this u could imagine how disappointed I was I explained him that this wasn’t the answer he has to give to a customer . As he is there to face customers complaints if needed and also compliments . Really dissatisfied and I will never come back to this place finally I couldn’t even eat and I paid for that . TOTALLY A WASTE OF MONEY AND TIME .
Not only the beautiful details of the craftsmanship in the interior were impressive - the friendly and sympathetic reception was reason enough to put the home-style cooking to the test. The crispy schnitzel not only made children's hearts beat faster, it also made adult mouths happy. Thank you, David, for this eventful culinary delight. 🤗😉
I was only there for a drink 🍸, but it is very difficult to talk to or understand someone at their own table, the music volume is very loud. Otherwise everything went very well.
It was good food and cheap
after trying a kaiserscharrn here in the evening before covid19, which is offered in three or four variations and was really delicious, i tried the restaurant two more times for full meals. Both experiences were, however, rather disappointing. I think the cozy ambience, which is characterized by dark colors and a lot of wood, is positive. the gastro extends over two floors which are connected with a generously dimensioned semi-spiral staircase. the chic and very clean toilets are on the first floor. a look at the menu inevitably reveals that the Heimwerk specializes in schnitzel and the selection is really good here. Another positive thing is that all portions are also offered as snack portions and are therefore ideal for putting together / sharing or as a beer accompaniment. the snack portion is about half a portion of the full one at a little more than half the price. the meat allegedly comes from animal welfare, but when eaten it was not convincing in terms of taste or texture. It's also a shame that the schnitzel tended to spend too long in the pan. My münchner schnitzel was also very disappointing in the end. Mustard and sea radish could only have run past once. even the initially so tasty kaiserschmarrn couldn't get anything out of it. it was unusually heavy and had a consistency reminiscent of semolina. good schnitzel will remain rare in munich and if Heimwerk knew how to convince, there would be another reason to come here more often: in addition to augustinger from the barrel, giesinger craft beer is also served from the bottle.
Nice location, very nicely decorated. We only had a drink, friendly staff, good location, well-mixed cocktails.
Actually, I didn't want to eat anything or not much. Still, I'm glad I did Schnitzel: Homemade breading, well fried, perfect! French fries: very fresh, very cool! I'll save the house marinade next time, but it was still great Salad: not just the cheap, bitter rocket, but a great mix even with seeds, great! The service is also very nice, with great advice and tips. In addition, the logo is very similar to a brewery at home, i.e. very home-at-near 😅 Definitely worth all stars!
Service very nice and courteous. Food was delicious. The "DIY sauce" is also recommended. Would recommend everyone to visit. Potions were also big enough!
Very tasty food and super friendly staff. I can only warmly recommend it.
It was great! Good drinks, nice service although it's Corona times. Recommended!
Cozy atmosphere and super friendly staff. However, when we arrived we noticed that patrons are asked for patience because the meal will take some time. They thought they were unlucky, but realized - after more than an hour - that it was extremely long for everyone. Unfortunately a star only for the eternal waiting time.
Standard restaurant. Aides and main are separated so the final bill is a little bit expensive but still remain affordable. A main and a side is approximately 15 euros. Staff is nice.
They have a great selection of Aperol Spritz with different flavours and ingredients. Great idea for a refreshing summer drink. Cute barman who spoke very good English. I recommend checking it out when you're in town.
Really great spot. On the weekends always filled with young, chic locals. Their menu is great as any of many available schnitzels and other meals is available in both standard and snack size which is perfect addition to beer. You can also mix and match different meals, slightly like Bavarian tapas 🙂 Good beer, good prices, great location and interior.
I was there for lunch today. Great service from start to finish ... very quick, yet super friendly. The schnitzel was unique. I would like to have the recipe for that ;-) Thank you and see you next time.
Best suited for vegetarians! The zucchini schnitzel was delicious. The service was very friendly. My children were also very happy.
Best rice Noodle bowl in the city
Very small schnitzel, not particularly tasty. Prices are given without supplements, they cost extra. Overall not a very good price-performance ratio. Ambience is similar to that of a snack bar. However nice service.
Great place to drop into for a glass of wine and chat with friends.
Great food, unremarkable service.
This was the WOOOOOORST bar ever. We are living here since half year, some people even more and we are a group of 10 people. We NEVER EVERRRR had a problem with bills or watherver in Germany or Munich. What a coincidence there were 10 magic beers added in the bills that WE NEVER ASKED FOR. And he was trying to say "yeah I knew with your group we will have problems" but if YOU ARE THE PROBLEM of couuuuuurse you will have. I will never go with a group anymore as they are just creating problems and dramas for nothing trying to steal money from the customers !! I cannot believe this still happend in 2020. The guy was SUPER MEAN since the beginning and even worst during the bill time like saying we were liars. Let me LAUGH !!! I am also working in a bar, I never saw some unprofessional people. We will never go there anymore, that's sure!
Good schnitzels
Very tasty food and nice friendly staff!
I have visited this place twice; one time to have a drink and the other to have a coffee. Both times i had a nice time. Drinks are nice and the staff has been friendly enough.
Fantastic
Very nice small restaurant in Munich. When in doubt, make a reservation!
Hot place, but it was terribly crowded there.
I really enjoyed this place. I loved the different varieties of schnitzel they offered. It's pretty unusual in Munich to find more than the few regular options. They had lots of other items on the menu as well as some craft beers. The service is pretty speedy and the staff are very friendly. Highly recommend!
Great schnitzels and friendly staff!
Veal schnitzel burger was the best. The beer selection is wonderful. I like the inclusion of the craft beers and not just the regional heavy hitters like Augustiner, Hofbrau, Lowenbrau, etc. The fries were good. The HeimWerk special sauce to dip the fries in was A+. We definitely don't regret going there!
Good drinks!
Good food, good Beer, decent Prices
Snitzel hamburger very good
Very nice german bavanian cousine. The interior of the restaurant is really nice, but the outside tables along the street are even nicer. It's peculiar to have dinner along the street, and the quartier is really nice and full of people at night. The nice thing about the menu is that for each dish it is possibile to have a small or a large portion, in order to eat the exact quantity of food you need. Moreover, you can try to taste more than one dish and descover new tasty german food. I really recommand it.
We really liked the schnitzel burgers we ordered here. The drinks from the house were also very good. The problem was that it took a long time that the waiter came to the terrace and take the order. We were lucky that he saw us, there were other people that said they had waited a long time and went before someone came and take orders.
Great place for after work drinks / schnitzel. They have the option of small portions which is great, schnitzel is always too huge for me!
Very stylish, good food, but a bit expensive. Enjoyed my stay there.
The food was overpriced and the quality is so so. I paid 5 euros for two thin slices of fried zucchini and I thought that was a joke. The service was also quite slow on a Sunday afternoon.
We were glad to find this restaurant as all the others in the area were totally booked. The services was nice. The food took a while but to be fair, it was packed. The schnitzels were averagely good, but the roasted potatoes... Santa madonna!!! Amazing side dish, do not miss them out.
